Cakes:

I made this cake and was slightly disappointed. (Doesn’t it look spectacular, though?)  It was moist, but not as flavorful as I'd hoped.  I'm only included it because I hope to tweak it sometime in the future.  My Strawberry Cream Cake recipe is BY FAR the best strawberry cake recipe I've tried and is DEFINETELY more worth the time and effort.

One of my ALL-TIME favorite, stand-by recipes!  So, so good!  The cream and cake are even great by themselves...Everybody who's every tasted it can tell you that much.  Anyway, I do simply leave out the Kirsch when I make this recipe and I've used frozen or fresh strawberries (fresh are best, but frozen also does fine).

I'm so glad I made this cake.  It was so mist and the mousse tasted like bliss, making it a keeper that’s truly worth the elaborate time and effort.  However, the mousse wouldn't stay sandwiched between the two layers.
